these were at the park on Sabado that has that rock climbing thing. Been seeing more graffiti on the ground now.
AH! check this out! found a sloth tag on the side of my building recently. I asked the guy who lived in my apartment just two months ago, Jim, if it was there when he lived here, and he said no! Maybe it means that sloth is ‘back’ from wherever he came from and is tagging again, or there is a copycat guy that is putting these up now. Either way, I’m stoked for sloth’s legacy to be remembered, and all the incoming freshmen can wonder “what the hell kind of graffiti is that” when they get here.
Found a total treasure trove in a bathroom in the Music building after lecture one day. If you can’t see it, beneath what I believe to be a stencil of Che is written in pencil “killer.” Anybody know who the other guy is?
Meant to post this a while ago. Was at a going away party for this amazing popper from Urban, one of my biggest influences in dance, and my friend Jessica saw I had Princess Mononoke as my wallpaper for my phone. She sent me this picture she took somewhere in the engineering buildings of UCSB. These are called Kodama, which in Japanese folklore are spirits that make their homes in certain trees, and it is VERY unlucky to cut down a tree that houses a Kodama. This depiction of Kodama comes from the movie Princess Mononoke, and really makes me wanna watch this again with my sister some time soon.

Another stencil, this one is signed AIP. Are those the initials of the face above it? When I first saw it, I thought it was an epitaph. Our graffiti may not always be the biggest or the the most elegant, but it is always so GOT DAMN interesting. By Storke tower in ucsb.
If you can’t tell, the bird’s body spells out ‘nevermore.’ I REALLY like this stencil. I gave my sister the entire collection fo Poe stories as a gift one time. One of my favorites. Over by Lotte Lehman concert hall, in the music building.
